We continue preparing the next container with help for the Work in Cuba.
Yesterday, Saturday, December 14, we traveled to Jacksonville, where we unloaded medical supplies, food and other donated items.
Also, it was an opportunity to meet with some dear brothers from our Church in Havana who gladly joined our effort.
We are grateful to Hope Fleet for the opportunity to work together, to Macedonian Call Ministries, for supporting all we do, to Disciplers Training International for their collaboration, to Vision with Compasion for being partners in this endeavor, to Pastors Victor Reyes and Manuel Morales Gonzalez for supporting us and mobilizing members of their churches to help us, and finally having our son Ruben and his wife Gabriela (recently married and living in Jacksonville) helping us was an added joy.
I want to remind you of the opportunity to cooperate with the Vacation Bible School project. Our goal is to reach 300 churches with a VBS package. We currently have some churches, ministries and individuals committed to this project for about 120 churches. We need your prayers and support in making this project known.
We shared these statistics previously, but they help us visualize the importance of this project: in 2023, 611 VBS were reported to have been celebrated with the participation of 31,263 children, of whom 7,382 received personal guidance about having a relationship with Jesus Christ. In 2024, 368 VBS were reported to have been celebrated with the participation of 37,012 children, of whom 8,535 were guided toward a personal decision for Jesus Christ.
If the Lord allows it, the next container will be on a date in the first quarter of 2025. Our desire is to send this VBS material in time so that the churches can prepare before the summer. The APEN Cuba Ministry will be coordinating the training in May. Having the material available is vital!
